Basic free charging setup

Goal

  • Configure a Laderegler with all needed settings to start offering Free Charging.

Before you begin

Make sure that

  • You've installed your Charge Controller into a Charging Station of your choice
  • You've followed the instructions on connecting a controller
  • You've followed the instructions on accessing the dashboard
  • There is no EV connected to the Charging Station

Steps

Given you followed the required steps mentioned above, you're now logged into the Dashboard and you're seeing the Status Screen.

  1. In the PENDING, under AUTHORIZATION > Free Charging, set Free Charging to On (http://192.168.123.123/groups/authorization#free_charging)
  2. Below the Free Charging parameter, a new parameter Free Charging Mode appears. Select the No OCPP option (default)
  3. At the bottom of the window, click , then click to apply the changes
Some caveats

With this setup

  • EV Owners can't check if the Charging Station is occupied.
  • Monitoring the charging sessions can only be done by manually transferring the Log files.
